Commercial buildings typically have flat roofs. But whether your commercial project involves a flat roof or sloped roof, Endurance Roofing has the expertise to repair or replace it.

Endurance Roofing’s
Specialties Include…

EPDM Single-Ply Roofing

The most common type used for commercial flat roofing is EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer), a synthetic rubber sheet material. An EPDM consists of a layer of insulation board underneath a membrane of EPDM rubber. The membrane can be laid down without adhesive but instead covered with stones or masonry pavers that promote evaporation. The membrane can also be fastened or glued to the insulation layer.

TPO Roofing

Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO) is composed of synthetic materials and fabric reinforcements for extra strength and durability as a single-ply membrane. TPO is moisture-resistant and contains natural reflective properties to deflect ultraviolet rays of the sun, which can cause roofing to dry out and crack over time. TPO tends to conserve energy within a building, as well.

Metal Roofing Systems

The benefits offered by today’s metal roofing products enable homeowners to add even more value to their property. Metal roofing is extremely long-lasting and the sleek look of metal panels provide a pleasingly contemporary look for your home. In fact, metal roofing is four times more popular than it was just a decade ago!

Endurance Roofing Does it Best

The main challenge with flat and low-slope roofs is that they can develop “pooling” and water hold water which promotes weight stress, fungal growth, and wear. As a result, a commercial roofing system consists of special materials to fight moisture intrusion. While standard sloped roofs typically have shingles that overlap so that water slides over them, a flat roof is a continuous surface capable of holding standing water until it runs off or evaporates.

Spray Foam
Coatings (SPF)

SPF (Spray Polyurethane Foam) roofing systems provide a seamless, protective barrier between the outside and the inside of your building. This roofing product is defined by a sturdy foam that conforms to any shape and permanently adheres to the roof.

Spray-on roof coating can be a suitable alternative to a full roof replacement. An SPF-treated roof reflects the Sun’s damaging infrared and ultraviolet rays, reducing heat atop, as well as inside your building through a process called “thermal remittance.”

SPF Can Reduce
Energy Bills

SPF roofing by Endurance Roofing will reduce energy bills by keeping your roof from absorbing excessive heat. It also helps the environment by reducing “urban heat island” effect.

Silicone Coating

Silicone roof coatings are the most widely used coating material in commercial roofing mainly because they are resistant to ponding water. They also offer superior UV stability, which means they are more resistant to the effects of UV rays. They are highly reflective so they won’t absorb the sun’s heat, thereby lowering your energy bills.

This type of roofing product is a suitable coating solution for a variety of commercial roofing substrates, including metal, modified bitumen, built-up roofing, EPDM, TPO, PVC, and concrete.

Acrylic Coating

Acrylic roof coatings are another popular option in commercial roofing as they are more cost-effective and long-lasting. They are environmentally friendly and offer great resistance to ultraviolet rays. They are also easy to clean and are less harsh to application equipment.

For this type of roofing product, experts strongly advise using them on steel-sloped metal roofs only, although they are also suitable for the following commercial roofing substrates: modified bitumen, built-up roofing, EPDM, TPO, PVC, and concrete.

Benefits of an
SPF-Treated Roof

  • According to the EPA, treated roofs reduce energy use by transferring less heat to the building.
  • Reduced air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions by lessening the demand on energy from excessive cooling to comfortably maintain inside temperatures Improved human health due to heat-related illnesses and deaths.
  • Stops water from pooling in vulnerable areas due to roof slope/shape because SPF can be applied at varying thicknesses to create contours that facilitate drainage.
  • Reduces leaks due by effectively sealing seams around roof penetrations such as skylights, rooftop HVAC equipment, and vents.
  • Eliminates the need for counter flashing.

Maintenance is Vital. Let Endurance Roofing Help!

When TPO, EPDM, and other membranes become weathered, rooftops can crack, leak, and pick up dirt, diminishing their effectiveness and energy-saving properties. Endurance Roofing can address these problems and add life to your commercial roof.

Signs of Roof Damage:

  • Loosened or missing fastening devices
  • Opened or exposed seams
  • Puncture holes

  • Built-up Roofing (BUR): Multiple layers of bitumen and reinforcing fabrics.
  • Single-Ply Membrane: PVC, TPO, or EPDM sheets.
  • Metal Roofing: Aluminum, steel, or copper panels.
  • Modified Bitumen: Asphalt-based sheets with added modifiers for durability.
  • Thermoplastic Olefin (TPO): Reflective and energy-efficient roofing material.

The cost of commercial roof replacement is influenced by various factors. These include the size and complexity of the roof, the quality and type of materials used, labor costs and availability, geographic location and climate, additional features like insulation or drainage systems, permitting requirements, and the reputation and experience of the contractor.

Commercial roofs should be inspected regularly to ensure their integrity and prevent costly damage. Typically, inspections should occur at least twice a year, ideally in the spring and fall. However, factors like climate, roof type, and previous issues may necessitate more frequent inspections, possibly quarterly or after severe weather events.

Yes, a commercial roof can often be repaired instead of replaced, depending on factors such as the extent of damage, age of the roof, and budget considerations. Here are key points:

  • Assessment: Evaluate the damage thoroughly.
  • Repair Options: Consider patching, sealing, or re-coating damaged areas.
  • Cost Comparison: Compare repair costs to replacement costs.
  • Roof Lifespan: Assess remaining lifespan post-repair.
  • Professional Consultation: Seek advice from roofing experts for the best solution.

To maintain a commercial roof effectively:

  • Schedule regular inspections by professionals.
  • Keep gutters and drains clear to prevent water buildup.
  • Address any leaks or damage promptly.
